About Me

I have lived in Scotland most of my life, but a very significant time of travelling between 1969 and 1973 awoke in me a lifelong interest in the exciting diversity of the cultures of the world.

Jenny Oswald In 1969, Willie and I were married and went to Australia. We travelled and lived and worked there for three great years. We returned to UK as much overland as possible - travelling through Singapore, Malaya, Thailand, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Germany and Belgium. It was a trip of a life time and I loved all the different music that we heard on our journey.

Twenty years later I came across Circle Dancing in my yoga class and was so pleased and excited to be dancing to music from around the world. Then I was delighted to discover a circle dance group very close to where I live. We danced with great joy in Caroline's beautiful big house with a big lawn for sunny days dancing.

Then the opportunity arose to do a circle dance teacher training course with Anna Barton from the Findhorn Foundation. It was a great privilege to dance with Anna and hear all her stories about teaching Circle Dance at the Findhorn Foundation and in many countries around the world. In 1997 I began to teach Circle Dance in Glasgow supported by a very loyal group of circle dancers.

In 1999 Judy King offered her first Circle Dance Teacher training course at Sutton Courtney in Oxfordshire. As anyone who has completed Judy's course will tell you, it was a unique experience - full of wonderful dancing and gems of wisdom from Judy and the other members of the group about how to teach Circle Dance.
